I’ve noticed a certain anti-intellectualism going around this country; since about 1980, oddly enough. … I was in Nashville, Tennessee, and after the show I went to a Waffle House. I’m not proud of it, but I was hungry. And I’m sitting there eating and reading a book. I don’t know anybody, I’m alone, so I’m reading a book. The waitress comes over to me like, [gum smacking] “What’chu readin’ for?” I had never been asked that. Not “What am I reading?”, but “What am I reading for?” Goddangit, you stumped me. Hmm, why do I read? I suppose I read for a lot of reasons, one of the main ones being so I don’t end up being a fucking waffle waitress.

I’m an idiot in some ways, I guess. Some days, for all that I read, and all that I work on and all that I do, I just do not get what the hell is happening in the world. So rather than try to answer questions today, or give some well thought out commentary on the issues of the day, or attempt to answer some deep burning philosophical question, I am going to ask a few questions today. I honestly hope that you, dear reader, have a few answers to these questions.

1 ) Question for Nevadans: How long will it take for the people of Nevada to realize that Sharron Angle is a crazed monkey who doesn’t deserve 
the time of day? Just because some of you hate Harry, doesn’t mean he’s not the best choice you have.
2 ) Question for Alvin Greene. Make little Alvin Greene dolls? Are you friggin high?
3 ) Question for BP, and the Oil production industry: Could you please stop being lazy assholes and fix the hole in the pipe, you friggin idiots?
4 ) Does anyone really give a crap about LeBron James?
5 ) Couldn’t we have shipped Cliff Lee off to Russia and kept the spies? Sure, the spies don’t have the stuff that Lee does, but Lee doesn’t have the knockers that the Russian chick does. Sending Lee would have been better for America.
6 ) I heard that Glenn Beck has an Online University. Seriously? That uneducated twit? Why? And what is it called, “Propaganda U?” “Educayshun foer Tee pahtee paytreeots?”

7 ) Is that putz Blagojevich is prison yet?
8 ) President Obama is doing pretty much what he said he was going to do when he was running for President. Obviously not everything, he isn’t perfect, no one is. But he is, by and large, actually doing what he said he would do, a rare enough thing in the world of politics. How many of the things that are wrong with this country are actually his fault? Name them and tell me how they are his fault.
9 ) How many critics of today’s politicians actually listen to what those self same politicians say? Not 10 second sound bites but whole speeches, entire interviews? Why does anyone listen to soundbites?
10 ) Advertising is Evil… not a question, just a fact. If you like watching commercials, if you like advertising, if you think branding is a good thing, kill yourself, please. You are a waste of DNA. Die. Get off of my planet before I kick you off, asshole.
11 ) That last bit was extreme, wasn’t it? I ain’t Sharron Angle, I ain’t retracting it. 🙂

12 ) Politics is transformative, it changes the people, and the people change it, and each alters the other to change with the times. Why then have the actual politics of the Birchers, the Paleo-Liberals, who became The NeoCons and then with the re-branding of the radical right became the Tea Party, changed so little over the last 60 years? Foolishly stuck in the past because they cannot accept the present as it is, or wise because they know all politics is cyclical, and that eventually their time will again come?
13 ) Why are none of the political pundits talking about how tight a race the senate race in Wisconsin is becoming? Russ Feingold is having serious issues up there, but all anyone can talk about is Angle – Reid.
14 ) A question for the DNC. Why no 50 state strategy for the house and senate this time around? Too difficult, Mr. Keane? The resources are there, why not use them? You are beginning to annoy me like your predecessor Mr. Dean did in early 2008.
15 ) Why is it, that despite the fact that most of America thinks democrats are simply getting it wrong (despite voting for them, and knowing what they were voting for), are the Republicans not further ahead in polling? Why is there no clear mandate for a majority in both the house and senate for the Republicans in the next session of congress?
16 ) Why aren’t businesses hiring? What the hell is wrong with American businesses? There are people who want to work, and there is money out there, just look at the stock market overall for the last year and a half, up over 4000 points since March last year. The money is there, the will is there, the need and demand is there. It’s almost like you want a reason to continue squeezing the 2008 recession for every penny it’s worth before you let it go.
17 ) Why do conservatives tolerate so much military spending, and at the same time complain we spend too much money?
18 ) I’m 42 years old. Why do I have so many unanswered questions? What gives? I pay attention to the world and all that goes on in it. What am I missing? Where did I goof?
19 ) Why don’t I have a job? I look hard, I call people, I do interviews, I’ve reworked my resume. I’ve done everything I can think of to get a job. Still no job. Why won’t anyone hire me? Did I do something wrong to someone or something?
