Pic of the day:  Dry Sunflower by Egon Schiele

No title.  Just thoughts.

Wisdom is like rain, it falls everywhere and affects everything,

but without life for it to fall upon, without something to receive the rain, it means nothing.

A peaceful feeling is to be regarded as something as important and valuable as gold.

To shatter a man’s peace is a criminal act, worthy of punishment.

Hard work is never enough, planning and intelligence is never enough.

Without luck, no work or plan and intellect will suffice.

Everything I have done is for naught, every ounce of work in vain

If I cannot make a better life for me and my wife, by making money with that work.

Money.  Loathe it, it drives the world.  The wrong way.

Over 20 years of work and nothing to show for it.

Money is temporary, only fools chase it, but only fools ignore it.

Thus whether you live for it, or fight it, it makes you a fool.

Running is a joy, walking is happiness,

Sitting brings smiles, and sleep is wonderful.

The sun a thing of beauty, clouds are poetry riding the sky,

Rain the sound of life at ease, thunder heaven’s roaring laughter.

No matter what happens, at least I have that.

A smile for every day, no matter the vicissitudes of life.

Life is a death sentence, but the world is not a prison,

so enjoy the world and the day and let the end come as it will,

Fear will only make the days worse, the life uglier and less worth living.

Joy is in the eyes that see the world as it is, not in the mind that sees what it wants to.

In this way, discipline creates joy, for only discipline can control the mind enough

to see beyond it’s own illusions and realize happiness.

Silence is beautiful. The sound of creek water running over rocks and shallows is a simple pleasure.

That’s it from here, America.  G’night.
