Roses are Red,
Violets are blue,
Mitt Romney stinks,
And Santorum does too. (Good lord what a cheesy intro)
Although admittedly Rick Santorum is tearing up the Republican field and now leads the Republican field, at least insofar as national polling goes. Mitt Romney who 4 months ago was losing to Rick Perry, surged ahead, then 3 months ago was losing to Herman Cain (does anyone even remember what he looks like?) and who surged ahead and then fell behind Newt Gingrich, has now been overtaken by Rick Santorum in the rolling national average of all polls, as put together by the fine folks at realclearpolitics.
I’ll be beating him in national polling sometime next month, despite the fact that I am neither a Republican nor a candidate for President this cycle.
A scant 3 days ago, Mitt was leading Rick Santorum by a healthy 6 points in the polling, though there was clearly a Santorum surge going on. It looks like Rick has really done a job of convincing republican voters that he’s the one. Before last week the only polling that was in any way pro-Santorum was the Democratic PPP polling people. But over the weekend new numbers have come out, and CBS news, Pew Research, and CNN polling all make it clear that Rick has taken the lead over Mitt, by 3, 2, and 2 percentage points respectively.
And while it is only a 1.6% point lead, AKA a statistical dead heat, that is a major victory for Sweatervestman.
Gotta tell ya, I like the fact that things are looking up for the American economy, after being down for so damn long. Unemployment is finally starting to drop to the point where it seems like there is light at the end of the tunnel for the entire American economy. The mortgage crisis, while still a mess, is a work in progress and is moving in the right direction, slowly but surely.
Which bodes well for the Democratic party. I voted for Obama in ’08, and his policies are working, jobs are coming back, the progress is real, and America is well on the way to feeling like America again, after 8 years of Bush and the last few years of mopping up the mess he made. I made the right choice back then. America made the right choice back then.
The Democrats have proven without a shadow of a doubt that you cannot shrink your way into growth. Less taxes on the rich = more taxes on everyone else. Less taxes for those who cannot afford it and more of the tax burden taken up by those who can = a stronger more stable economy and a better and brighter future for America.
Aaaaaaaaand anyone who believes the bullshit line that taxing job creators hurts American jobs has no idea how America works, and has probably never done anything to help create American jobs.
It is Valentine’s day, a day for lovers, a day for love, and a day to remember that love is the most important thing in our lives. I’ve had a happy one with my wife.
Go. Read a quote, look at a picture, then go to your love, to your family, to the people you are closest to and tell them you love them.
Happy Saint Valentine day.
Love works magic.
It is the final purpose
Of the world story,
The Amen of the universe.

That’s it from here, America. G’night.
