Is Santorum For Real?

Looks like Rick Santorum is for real, at least for tonight.  He may not have the machine in place to get it done in all 50 states, and he certainly doesn’t have the money to continue a long term fight with Mitt Romney, but he’s looking strong at this point on this night.

He has already been declared the winner in Missouri, and that is not a surprise, polling there suggested he would win there going away.  Mr. Santorum is also winning in Minnesota, and again this is not a surprise, the polling over the last few days has suggested that he had in fact eaten rather sharply into the lead that was held at one point by both Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.  The latest poll showed Rick leading the polls there by 9% just a day ago.

The surprise here is that he is leading in Colorado, it is still early but he is still leading there, in a state that was polling sharply more towards Mitt Romney, who has been leading there in polling by 10 points over Mr. Santorum.

The one thing in common is all of the polling here is that Newt Gingrich has fallen off rather badly over the last few weeks.  How much that has to do with the alleged loss of Sandy Adelson from his camp is anyone’s guess, but the loss of the big money man in the Gingrich camp would pretty much spell the death of the Gingrich campaign.

Santorum Vs. Romney isn’t the matchup anyone was envisioning.  Not even after Santorum’s very strong showing in Iowa was that thought to be the way the race was shaping up.  If Rick Santorum can lock up a major donor to his cause, pull in some serious cash, and with that money build the political machine needed in this day and age to win anything as large as a shot as the Presidency, he may well win the nomination of the Republican party for the Presidency of the United States of America.

An aside.

That Chrysler commercial is showing America’s right wing to be very, very unhappy about a positive message about America coming from that place.  Karl Rove, the turd blossom said something about being “offended” by it.  Michele Malkin tweeted some shit about it, and Rush Limbaugh said that Clint Eastwood got “scammed” into doing the ad.

One word suffices as a response to all of these people.  BULLSHIT.

The message is a POSITIVE ONE for America.  What is wrong with these people?  Is it so hard to understand that the message is essentially what Americans want to hear? Is it so hard to understand that getting up and fighting back from the brink of disaster, and becoming strong is a good thing?

I just don’t get these people.  I honestly don’t.  Some agenda’s are just beyond understanding.

That’s it from here, America.  G’night.
