I was going to continue the run story that I had been writing here the past two articles, but decided it deserved it’s own page.  It’s my first foray into longer form writing, and is a work in progress, on the story of the month page.  Check it out, I hope it doesn’t suck too much.  This month’s story is just me going on about a run I ran earlier this month.  A creative writing exercise, which I am sure will be evident to even the most casual of readers.

I’m not sure it’ll be entertaining, and I am sure it will suck in sections, but I’m OK with that.  No one starts out writing like Hemingway or Orwell.

I really got a kick out of watching Current tv’s coverage of the South Carolina primary.  Keith Olbermann was fun to watch.  Bill Press stuck his foot in his mouth on a few occasions, and Keith helped him pull it out, but the points made, even when planting foot in face, was damned entertaining.  A lot was being made of the fact that Mitt Romney got the snot knocked out of him, and with Gingrich surging it was openly wondered at what kind of horrible election season it is going to be for the Republicans.

There is a large contingent of republicans who don’t like big government Gingrich, there are evangelicals who won’t get behind Romney or Gingrich, and the term “kingmaker” was being tossed around.  The kingmaker in question?  Rick Santorum of all people. He can’t win, but he can bring a hefty portion of the vote, the aforementioned evangelicals to one candidate or the other when he bows out.

And the talk was that since he’s been hammering Romney in speeches as hard as he has been, it would be really difficult for him to support Romney after that. Making a Gingrich nomination a near inevitability.

I don’t know, sounds like a bit of over-dramatization, but it could go that way.

Joe Paterno is Not dead.  Reports had come out that he had died, but reports of his death were passed around the internet, and had made it to CBS news, before being refuted by the family.

That had to be an odd moment in the Vent ward for his family, hearing about his death while sitting with him, still alive.  They put out a report when they heard the report, clearing things up pretty quickly.

Viddy of the day: ‘Shocking victory’: With SOPA shelved, Markos Moulitsas on a way forward for internet policy

Though all the winds of doctrine were let loose to play upon the earth, so Truth be in the field, we do injuriously, by licensing and prohibiting, to misdoubt her strength. Let her and Falsehood grapple; who ever knew Truth put to the worse, in a free and open encounter?

John Milton, Areopagitica

Sopa and Pipa are dead. For now.  I fully expect some other form of legislation trying to do the basic things that these two unnatural evil pieces of shit pulled straight from the assholes of the membership of the RIAA to show themselves at a later date, with less fanfare.

Once bitten, twice shy or some such.

I watched some piece of sports fluff from CNN on the roku box.  Some dolphins were picking the winners of the NFC and AFC championship games.  The dolphins in question picked the Patriots and the Giants.

In other NFL news, assholes at Candlestick park are in for a fun night.  undercover officers will be wearing Giants gear according to one story I read on Yahoo sports, looking to keep the more raucous fans from bringing out the stupid that they are known for over there.

But then again, this is San Francisco we are talking about.  Real New Yorkers can handle them.  They’re idiots, and no New Yorker worth his salt is afraid of idiots.  Proof that they’re idiots? They lost their tailgating privileges.  Srsly? No beer for anyone because you dolts don’t know how to act?

Losers.  🙂

That’s it from here, America.  G’night.
