Last weeks picks were not quite as bad as I initially thought, but they did live up to the name WILDLY INACCURATE. I did pretty well on the late games, and on the Monday games, but got slaughtered during the 1:00 pm games. I have no problem with going 7-7-1 ATS last week, thought there were some real stinkers.
Lets see if I stink the joint out again this week. Should be fun.
Raiders @ Bills; Sunday 1:00pm on CBS. The Bills are 3 point favorites, the O/U is 43 points. I don’t think this Buffalo team is for real, or at the very least they aren’t as good as the 41-7 score from last week against the Chiefs. The Raiders played a less than stellar Broncos team and only won by 3. Without Sebastian Janikowski, the Raiders don’t win last week. I’m thinking it’ll be much the same this week.
Take the Raiders and the over. Final score: Raiders 30, Bills 24.
Chiefs @ Lions: Sunday 1:00pm on CBS. The Lions are an 8 point favorite, the O/U is 45 points. The Chiefs got embarrassed at home last week. The Lions went on the road and showed a strong Bucs team who was boss. The Chiefs aren’t quite as bad as they played last week, but they aren’t a viable candidate for best team in the AFC either. The Lions will cement that thought in their heads this week.
Take the Lions and the over. Final score Lions 31, Chiefs 17.
Ravens @ Titans: Sunday 1:00pm on CBS. The Ravens are 6 point favorites, the O/U is 38 points. The Ravens can be counted on to pound the Titans this week. The Titans will do their best to play strong at home, and they played relatively well when they had the ball last week, but they just didn’t have the ball enough to make it happen, they only had the ball on offense for 20 minutes. They’ll have the same problem this week. Too much Ravens, not enough time with the ball to make a difference.
Take the Ravens and the over Final score: Ravens 30, Titans 17.
Browns @ Colts: Sunday 1:00pm on CBS. The Browns are 2½ point favorites, the O/U is 40 points. The Colts sucked last week, no if’s ands or buts about it. OK, Reggie Wayne had a game, seems the rest of the team just struggled along with Kerry Collins, who looked like a man who had just come out of retirement. Peyton Hillis, Colt McCoy and the Brownies played down to the competition last week, something I’m expecting them to do again this week.
Take the Colts and the under. Final score: Colts 21, Browns 17.
Buccaneers @ Vikings: Sunday 1:00pm on FOX. The Vikings are 3 point favorites, the O/U is 41½ points. The Bucs got shocked at home last week. The Vikings didn’t shock anyone last week. It would shock me if the Bucs got shocked twice in consecutive weeks. Donovan McNabb will be better than the 39 yards worth of offense he was able to generate last week, and Adrian Peterson will be the catalyst the team needs to make this close, but not enough for the win.
Take the Bucs and the over. Final score: Bucs 27, Vikings 21.
Bears @ Saints: Sunday 1:00pm on FOX. The Saints are 7 point favorites, the O/U is 47½ points. The Saints played hard and nearly pulled off the win vs the Pack last week, and after a bad start the offense really got going. The Bears were pretty damn good last week as well. The Bears held down a very good Falcons team, held them without an offensive TD. I don’t expect the Bears to be able to do that 2 weeks in a row, and I expect their offense to sputter at times, but the D will be enough to get them a W.
Take the Bears and the under. Final score: Bears 24, Saints 21.
Jaguars @Jets: Sunday 1:00pm on CBS. The Jets are 9½ point favorites, the O/U is 39½ points. The Jets had to fight tooth and nail to beat a team they were supposed to beat last week. That team was the Cowboys, who are better than a number of people thought they would be last week. The Jags played a less than spectacular team last week and nearly lost. I think these Jets are going to romp here.
Take the Jets and the over. Final score: Jets 34, Jaguars 14.
Seahawks @Steelers: Sunday 1:00pm on FOX. The Steelers are 14½ point favorites, the O/U is 40. The Steelers are not nearly as bad a team as they showed themselves to be last week. 7 turnovers is very Un-Steeler like, that won’t happen twice. The Seahawks are going to pay for the Steelers frustration over last week. It helps that the Seahawks aren’t what you’d call good.
Take the Steelers and the under. Final score: Steelers 28, Seahawks 7
Cardinals @ Redskins: Sunday 1:00pm on FOX. The Redskins are 3½ point favorites, the O/U is 44½ points. The Redskins beat a clearly not quite ready Giants team last week, and the Cards beat a Panthers team that only went anywhere because they could not play D against a QB who had never played in the NFL before. It’ll be tight but the Skins’ll pull it out at home.
Take the Skins and the under. Final score: Redskins 20, Cards 16.
Panthers @ Packers: Sunday 1:00pm on FOX. The Packers are 10 point favorites, the O/U is 46 points. Cam Newton will run into a defense that knows how to play against a rookie QB, and the Pack will rush and crush him when they are playing D. The Panthers will look here like a team destined to win 3 or 4 games this year.
Take the Packers and the under. Final score: Packers 31, Panthers 9.
Cowboys @49ers: Sunday 4:15pm on FOX. The Cowboys are 3 point favorites, the O/U is 42½ points. The Cowboys played the Jets tough last week, and almost walked away with the win. The 49ers won against a weak Seahawks team, and only won thanks to 2 late TD kick returns by Ted Ginn Jr. The Cowboys won’t put themselves in that position against this 49ers team.
Take the Cowboys and the under. Final score: Cowboys 24, 49ers 17
Bengals @ Broncos: Sunday 4:15pm on CBS. The Broncos are 4 point favorites, the O/U is 40. The Bengals suck. Last week was an aberration against a Browns team that played like it was lead by a rookie, which it was. Broncos lost a tough one to a division opponent. They won’t lose this week, but it’ll be tight.
Take the Bengals and the over. Final score: Broncos 27, Bengals 24.
Texans @ Dolphins: Sunday 4:15 pm on CBS. The Texans are a 3 point favorite, the O/U is 48. This Dolphins team got OWNED by the Pats last week… and yet they had nearly 500 yards of offense. Chad Henne is a very talented QB with some talent to throw to, and he proved that last week. The Texans are a talented team as well, thought Matt Schaub was not his usual self last week. Not expecting that to roll into this week. This is going to be a high scoring affair.
Take the Dolphins and the over. Final score Dolphins 35, Texans 31.
Chargers @ Patriots: Sunday 4:15 pm on CBS. The Patriots are 7 point favorites, the O/U is 53½. Like the Chargers have a chance. please. If the team that played the Fins show up this week the Chargers are toast. But the Chargers do not suck, they’ll score a few points to make things semi-interesting.
Take the Patriots and the over. Final score: Patriots 35, Chargers 24.
Eagles@ Falcons: Sunday 8:20pm on NBC. The Eagles are 2½ point favorites, the O/U is 49½ points. The Falcons got their asses handed to them last week by a Bears team that showed they were clearly better than they were. The Eagles looked at times vulnerable despite winning going away last week. The Rams did some things against them, even if they couldn’t score, in large part because they kept getting hurt. The Falcons won’t have that problem this week.
Take the Falcons and the under. Final score: Falcons 27, Eagles 21
Rams @ Giants: Monday 8:30 pm on ESPN. The Giants are 6 point favorites, the O/U is 43½ points. The Giants were less then spectacular last week against the Redskins, they completely stalled against them in the second half of that game. The Rams were stopped more by injuries than by anything else last week. The Giants are a better team than they showed last week. The Rams aren’t slouches either, but they walk in sore after last week, and it’ll show.
Take the Giants and the under. Final score: Giants 24, Rams 17.
That’s it from here, America. G’night.
