Anagram: God Bless The USA/ Budget *ssholes

It was such a nice anagram, I just HAD to!  🙂    A viddy from Bloomberg (EXPENSIVE OIL! YAY!!!….or something)  prior to talk about me and My life, and my NHL Picks for the Conference finals (2 days late, dammit)

I’ve been gone for a few days, and I apologize for that.  I was unavoidably detained.  I had a life to live, things to do.  I have a job now.  A temp Hail Caeser!job with what looks like a small chance of  becoming permanent, but ya never know, it could happen.  Nice place, smaller shop than the one I worked in the last few years in all operational aspects.  Good people there, but then again, it was day one, everyone on their best behavior with the new Rhino in the office.

I was working my budget out while I was there, I have bills to pay after I do this, so money is on my mind slightly more than usual.   I figure it like this, to make this worth my while, I.E., to make this where I, after paying bills, come out with at least 3 extra dollars after expenses in my pocket, would have to work 10 hours of overtime per week.  If today is any indication, that won’t be happening.  They offered me Overtime, but there was no work to actually do, so my day ended there.

I had another job lined up that would have started this week, today actually, but I never got a call from them, and I was too busy traveling into Manhattan to actually call them either in the office or en-route (the wisdom of calling to get a better paying  job on while at the office will not be debated in this space) (yet) The job would have, at maximum, paid $7 more per hour than this one, and I kept an ear out for calls from them on my cell, trying as I was to be inconspicuous about using it.

I’ll call them tomorrow.  No worries, If they say come in, for $7 more an hour, yer damn right I’ll leave the one place behind for the other.  My loyalty is first and foremost to my wallet and my wife, I’ll do what I must to make as much money as possible.

    Like I said, no worries.

Since I’ve been AWOL for a few days, It’s time to play catchup a bit.  I know that The NHL Conference Finals are already started, but since I didn’t get to do my predictions on them before, I’ll do them now, late though I am.

The Wings are already up 1-0 in their series with the Blackhawks.  I did call this one, saying that The Hawks would get past the Canucks and the Red Wings would get past the Ducks.  I don’t care who shows up to play them this year, I can’t pick against them. Well, I did kind of  as a goof in the first round Vs the Blue Jackets, but i can’t do it again.  And I won’t.  This wings team is just too strong.  Say goodbye to the Blackhawks.

     Red Wings in 6.

The Penguins are up 1-0 in this series via their win tonight over the Carolina Hurricanes.  I Picked the Bruins over the canes, and the Caps over the Pens, so the last round in the east was a complete wash for me.  So I start over with what I have.  I’ve picked against them the first two rounds and seen them come around and make me look silly.  Screw the Hurricanes, the Cardinals did this to me during the NFL Playoffs. Winning despite the fact that the teams they were playing were better than they were and sucked me into picking against them.  I won’t let it happen twice.  Not again.

     Canes in 7.

     A news story worth reading!

That’s it for me.  A blog next when I can get to it, probably Wednesday.  A second viddy, a few quotes, and that’s all she wrote.

A viddy from the Ed Show, featuring House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, talking about torture.

That’s it from here. Later!
