Anagram: Christmas In October/Somber Rhino Tactics

There is so much fertile ground to cover today, that I am going to have to leave some stuff out and cover it later.

I believe that a little truth about the William Ayers – Barack Obama connection is in order.   Rather than talk about the subject at length, I will provide a link for your perusal.  Click here to read it.  If you read this carefully you will get the following.  These men lived a few blocks away from each other.  They worked together on an Anti-poverty board that met a dozen times over a period of three years, to approve grants.   They also worked together at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.   Bill Ayers held a meet and greet for the Obama’s at his house when he was getting started.  They do not however seem to be friendly in any way.  The relationship seems to have been one of professionals working together for the educational good of the children of Chicago.

Mister Ayers is no longer a terrorist.  He is a college professor and a respected member of Chicago’s civic community, and has for years been a champion for education reform.  To link Bill Ayers, the member of the weather Underground, and Bill Ayers the education reformer is not a stretch, but to connect Ayers and Obama together in any way that has anything to do with his days in the weather underground is silly.  They worked together on education reform, hardly radical stuff, hardly the work of terrorists.

I have no respect for the line of thought presented against Sen. Obama here.  It is logical fallacy in a political context, and that is stupid.    Trying to paint the Obama campaign or Sen. Obama as pro-terrorist was tried by Hillary, and it failed then too. It smacks of desperation by a McCain campaign that is desperate to get away from the biggest subject in America right now.

The Economy.  At one point today the Stock market had lost 800 points today.  That is over one trillion dollars worth of stock for those doing the math, before it rebounded.  We are in one helluva bad way when things end on a good note and the market “Only” loses 350 points.

John McCain wants to be President of this country.  He wants to lead this country for the next four years based on… his ability to obscure?  His ability to avoid the big issues and attack non-existent side issues?  This economy is going to be in this economic downturn for a long time. One wonders what kind of a leader a man can be if he is busy trying to obscure our view of the damage done in order to put his own agenda first.

Country First my ass.

I think I am going to call it a night.  But first an explanation, then a video.   The title might have you wondering “WTF Is he mentioning CHRISTMAS for?”  Simple.  I like Christmas, and, for no readily apparent reason had the sudden urge to hear Christmas music at around 4:00a.m., just after my lunch break at work early Monday morning.  Jumped on Pandora and proceeded to listen to 2½ hours worth of Christmas songs…And I have to tell you the truth here… I am listening to it as we speak.  This is the station on Pandora “Bing Crosby (Holiday) Radio” Good stuff. Currently listening to Andy Williams “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”

I guess I’m just not right. And that’s OK by me.  A video for you.  Feel The Love:

That’s it for me.  Later!

Today’s Nuggets, Via Wikiquote:  I hold it that a little rebellion, now and then, is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical…. It is a medicine necessary for the sound health of government.   Thomas Jefferson

Analysis of rebellion leads at least to the suspicion that, contrary to the postulates of contemporary thought, a human nature does exist, as the Greeks believed. Why rebel if there is nothing permanent in oneself worth preserving? … Rebellion, though apparently negative, since it creates nothing, is profoundly positive in that it reveals the part of man which must always be defended.    Albert Camus
