The head of Barack Obama’s V.P. Search team stepped down today over loans he received from Countrywide loans that were below market rate after leaving Fannie Mae. It was a voluntary move, one done so that Mr. Johnson and his issues would not in any way distract from The V.P. Search or create any issues for the Obama campaign. Any of these Issues Individually would have been bad for Mister Johnson, but put them together and they spelled disaster for him. He had to step down. Quoting the Reuters story on the subject:

“The Wall Street Journal had reported Johnson, former head of the mortgage giant Fannie Mae, received private loans at below-market rates from Countrywide after he left Fannie Mae.
Countrywide has been accused of helping fuel the subprime mortgage crisis with risky loans.
Illinois Democratic Sen. Richard Durbin told MSNBC that it was Johnson’s decision to step down and was the right move. “He’s willing to step aside from this line of fire. And it appeared that this was going to be a bigger story than it really should have been. I think he made the right choice,” said Durbin.

The campaign of Republican presidential candidate John McCain had heaped criticism on Johnson in response to weeks of attacks from Democrats over McCain’s ties to lobbyists. “Jim Johnson’s resignation raises serious questions about Barack Obama’s judgment,” said McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds. Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton fired back, saying, “We don’t need any lectures from a campaign that waited fifteen months to purge the lobbyists from their staff.”

OK, who wants to play “Spot The Idiot” with me here? You In? Good.

Idiot #1: Mister Johnson for accepting the role On Mister Obama’s staff, knowing full well what he did, He should have then deduced that it would have been found out and reported on and made a spectacle for all the world to see.

Idiot #2: Actually a gaggle of Idiots here. Barack Obama’s campaign staff, for Hiring him, and not digging deep enough or hard enough to find this issue before he got to be on the search team.

Idiot #3: Tucker Bounds: The resignation does not raise any questions. The Hiring does. Mister Bounds statement here, read as it is, shows an amazing lack of intellect.

Honorable mention goes to Bill Burton for even dignifying Mr. Bounds Comment with a reply.

Oh hell, Let’s Just say the whole damned thing is stupid and be done with it!

HEY LOOK! MONEY!!!!!

Tax news today from the Campaign front. Both candidates are going to cost us an arm and a leg if they get into office tax wise. No Balanced Budget for us for the next few years if what the report I’m reading is accurate. Read the whole story here.

Let me break it down for you. According to this report, John McCain will lower income for America’s richest one tenth of one percent by an average of 11.6%, or $678,500 Annually, while adding to the tax burden of the poorest 20% of American Taxpayers by nine tenths of One percent, or $101 per year.

On the Other Hand, Barack Obama’s plan would raise Income for the poorest 20% of American Taxpayers by 6.2 Percent annually, or $698 per year, while the Top one tenth of One percent would see their after tax Income decline by 5.1% or $301,000 annually.

And that’s not all folks. If stretched out over a ten year period, Senator McCain’s plan would add, Including Interest on the debt, approximately $4,500,000,000,000 to the National Debt. Senator Obama’s plan is not much better tho, over the same period of time it would add $3,300,000,000,000 to the National debt.

Hope your pockets are deep America. Because we are gonna be Paying for some MIGHTY BIG Government over the next few years.

…. And it gets worse. The Obama Health Plan could add significantly to the debt, and a lack of spending cuts and the continuance of The Iraq war under John McCain could also significantly add to the National debt.

There’s only one Group of idiots here folks.

Us.

For thinking that any politician is going to make things better for us. These two are talking about being change agents. About bringing real change to America. I have a question for Both Campaigns.

Since when is Being in Debt Change? We are in hock up to our eyeballs now, and you guys want to ADD to the National debt? Are You Insane???????

The previous posting i put in here, after that last sentence was a little….Angry, and rightfully so. But i have to tell you that I am just plain Unhappy about the circumstances above. Angry enough to want to, at least in some recess in my brain, call for open armed Revolution.

But I know my people. I know them well. They would not listen. They do not care enough. The few of us that do could not possibly make a dent in the American psyche, and we would have to do much more then that to be effective and bringing real change.

Maybe Barack Obama can do it. I hope he can bring real change to the America, bring an end to The wastefulness, and the stupidity that is The Economic system in this Nation.

Big Business needs to be reigned in. Government needs to be shrunk, but kept large enough where it can protect the people from the destructive Self Motivated interests of Corporate America while at the same time being small enough to not pose a real threat to the Freedoms of this nation that are in all but name being trampled on By Big Business in America.

And not all big business is bad, but dammit, It looks and feels like we are being robbed blind of everything we have and are being left with nothing. And the Government is letting it happen.

But maybe I’m wrong. You tell me.

Personal stuff Up next: Run, Guitar, and Maybe a Video!

Run: 4 miles in 31:31.38 for a 7:52.84 M/M Pace What a difference a day makes. Yesterday I ran an 8:30 with 6 stops in 95 degree heat. Today it was 84 degrees, not Humid and i was able to run without stops and run almost 40 seconds per mile faster then yesterday. Nice! I ran without the Headphones and that was a good thing. The headphones were a hindrance and i didn’t realize it until i stopped using them. They kept me from hearing myself breathe. Not a big deal you say? I did not realize until I took them off and listened to myself that I needed to hear myself breathing to run properly. Without hearing myself breath I could not Link breath to movement in such a way as to optimize my performance. Two steps, One breath. Two steps, One breath. That’s the way it’s supposed to go. But the Headphones threw off my timing there. I did notice that My breathing was Amazingly labored even on less then sweltering hot days, and didn’t realize it was because My Timing breathing wise, was off. Issue fixed.

Guitar: Played, but not nearly as much as i would have liked today. Hit all the modes today. Toyed around with chord progressions in e Major. I played a little bit that I do. Pick a Note, then Pick a Mode to play in, then play that mode starting with that particular note in as many positions as I can come up with. It’s a fun little exercise. Gonna have to play more than this on a regular basis. This not playing as much as I feel like i should Sucks!

Video: I’m in a Cartoony Mood right now! Have Some Bob Clampett and “Baby Bottleneck”

That’s It for Me! JAM ON!

Today’s Nuggets, from George Carlin, Via Wikiquote:  Thou shalt not kill. Murder. The fifth commandment. But if you think about it…if you think about it, religion has never really had a problem with murder. Not really. No, more people have been killed in the name of God than for any other reason. All you have to do…all you have to do is look at slavery, the Middle East, the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Holocaust, and the World Trade Center, and you’ll see how seriously the religious folks take “Thou Shalt Not Kill.” The more devout they are…the more devout they are, the more they see murder as negotiable…it’s negotiable. It depends, you know? It depends, it depends on who’s doing the killing, and who’s getting killed.

They (The Reagan Administration) want to put street criminals in jail to make life safer for the business criminals. They’re against street crime providing that street isn’t Wall Street.

Whoever coined the term “Let the Buyer Beware” was probably bleeding from the asshole.
