Anagram: More Political Crap/Tricolor Palace Imp

American Flag  Joy!  The Republicans have for the last seven years made an Unholy mess of all that is America.  They have damaged the economy in a way that seemed almost impossible to me.  They have overseen an erosion of Freedoms in this nation like never before.  There is an Unpopular war overseen by a President and Vice president who don’t care what we think about it.   And what does that all add up to?  A Lead in National General Election Polls for ….. Republican Nominee John McCain!  AACK!

According to Real clear politics, Polls by Rasmussen and Gallup taken between 3/17 and 3/21 have John McCain Beating Barack Obama by 8% in the Rasmussen poll and 2% in The Gallup Poll.  McCain Is Beating Hillary By 2% in The Gallup poll and 6% in The Rasmussen poll.  The One good thing about this is the percentage of Undecided’s in each of these cases is larger than the lead that McCain has over Hillary and Barack.  Still a bit disconcerting to even see A Republican Leading In the National Polls.

I was reading a Story about Our Favorite Vice President, a Man who really knows how to live up to His first name.  DICK Cheney showed the world a side that no one needed to see.His stupid side.  well we see it frequently enough, but Do you have to strut around with the damned thing? In an Interview with ABC News Correspondent Martha Raddatz (wasn’t she in Dragonball Z?)  The Vice President’s response to being reminded about the public Disapproval of The War in Iraq said the Following Heart warming and Wonderfully “Dick”ish Answer.     “So?”

I heard this and Immediately thought….’hmmmm, Living up to your name again, huh, DICK?”.  I read where he said afterwards that Policy should not be Tailored to fit Fluctuations in Public Attitude.  Is He Insane? The founding fathers gave the power to wage war to the legislative branch and not the executive branch to prohibit, amongst other things, people with this Kind of cavalier attitude about war, about putting our Young Warriors in harms way, from having the capacity to wage war in the first place.  The power to engage in War is Invested in The People’s duly elected representatives to protect Us from needless war, and from people, like Dick Cheney, who care little about anything but their own agenda.

I Love the Constitution, Don’t you?  Protects Us from Crazy Bastards Like Bush and Cheney.  Without it we would In all likelihood already be at war in Iran, which would have us fighting a war on three fronts in three nations, while Still Not going after the Guy who Got us off of our asses to fight in the First place.  Memo To Georgie Porgie and Dickie Boy: OSAMA IS STILL OUT THEIR, YOU MORONS! GO GET’EM! These two wave the flag the hardest to distract us from all the crap they pull, and no one’s buying it anymore.  Don’t go away mad fellas, Just go away.

In Other News, A Muslim writer who is a leading Critic Of Islamic Fundamentalism and a Pro-Israeli writer, Magdi Allam, Converted to Christianity, Taking the Name Christian, and was baptised by the Pope on Saturday Night.  This man has for years been an active and very vocal critic of Islamic fundamentalism in his writing in the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, where he is a deputy director, and has been threatened with death over said criticism.   Quoting the Reuters story: “he had continually asked himself why someone who had struggled for what he called “moderate Islam” was then “condemned to death in the name of Islam and on the basis of a Koranic legitimisation”.  Congratulations My Brother.  Welcome to the Fold.  Enjoy.  I hope the extremists don’t try to kill you for this.  I wish you luck, peace and happiness in your journey through life.

I can not understand how a Faith so rich in cultural diversity has these kind of Violent underpinnings to it.  You see it every day.  More Suicide bombers.  More violence.  Fatwas.  Hamas and Israel going at it time and again.  A war started by Islamic Religious fundamentalists (Afghanistan).  I am sure that Allah is Great, but why do his followers have to follow such an insanely violent path?  God is Good.  Why can’t his followers be as well?  Peace is beautiful, why do they do these things?

Yes we Americans fight wars that are sometimes Ideological in nature.  And yes we Americans are not Morally perfect, not by any stretch of the Imagination, but we don’t play like that.  I’m gonna try to work this out. Figure out exactly what went wrong, where, with who, and when.  This may take a bit of time tho.  When I can get the wording on this straightened out,  and it may be a while, I will tackle the Subject of The Morality of Islamic Fundamentalism and terrorism Vs. American Morality as it pertains to War and terrorism. I keep trying to find the right words and they keep eluding me.  But this is a Thorny subject and I would not expect it to be an easy one to write about.

That’s It for Opinion, Politics and News, Onto personal stuff. not much of it mind you…

Guitar:  I haven’t played much today, Got a few minutes in this morning, But I brought my guitar with me today and I’m gonna jam when I get the time.  I have a job Or two in house and I’m gonna do that first.  Work First, Play second.

That’s It for Me. Go Jam!

Today’s Nuggets:  Of all the classes of men, I dislike the most those who make their livings by talking – actors, clergymen, politicians, pedagogues, and so on. …. It is almost impossible to imagine a talker who sticks to the facts. Carried away by the sound of his own voice and the applause from the groundlings, he makes inevitably the jump from logic to mere rhetoric. H.L. Mencken

Anagram: Have a Happy Easter/The Papaya Heavers

The Shroud Of Turin     This Day is about more than Bunnies and chocolate.  It’s about the Resurrection of Christ.  Just a few Bible quotes here about the event for you to peruse.  Regular Blog stuff coming up shortly.

 Enjoy.  Quotes from:  http://www.beliefnet.com/story/143/story_14385_1.html

Luke 24     1: But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices which they had prepared. 2: And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3: but when they went in they did not find the body. 4: While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel; 5: and as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6: Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, 7: that the Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise.” 8: And they remembered his words, 9: and returning from the tomb they told all this to the eleven and to all the rest.

John 20    1: Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb. 2: So she ran, and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.” 3: Peter then came out with the other disciple, and they went toward the tomb. 4: They both ran, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first; 5: and stooping to look in, he saw the linen cloths lying there, but he did not go in. 6: Then Simon Peter came, following him, and went into the tomb; he saw the linen cloths lying, 7: and the napkin, which had been on his head, not lying with the linen cloths but rolled up in a place by itself. 8: Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw and believed; 9: for as yet they did not know the scripture, that he must rise from the dead. 10: Then the disciples went back to their homes.

11: But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb, and as she wept she stooped to look into the tomb; 12: and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had lain, one at the head and one at the feet. 13: They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” 14: Saying this, she turned round and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. 15: Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom do you seek?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” 16: Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rab-bo’ni!” (which means Teacher). 17: Jesus said to her, “Do not hold me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.” 18: Mary Mag’dalene went and said to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”; and she told them that he had said these things to her.

       Have a Happy Easter.
