This story that just came across the ticker, From Cnn: “Rudy Giuliani may drop out of the Republican presidential race and endorse John McCain, perhaps as soon as Wednesday, GOP sources tell CNN. One source says there have been “ongoing discussions” between the Giuliani campaign and McCain campaign manager Rick Davis about the move.” This is Double Good News, First off, it means that one of those candidates who is Least fit for the Presidency Is Out of the Race for the White house, and it means that those people who would have voted for him would now in all likelihood, if they follow his lead will put his clout behind one of the better Candidates for the White House. The Best the Republicans Have, in My opinion. …. And It’s official. Nbc and Abc are both reporting it as a done deal. Rudy Is Done. Rudy, you would have been a Bad president, but you are still a good man and your resolve and strength were a wonder to behold. You just played the 9/11 and florida cards too hard. Diversification would have done you much good. Thankfully you didn’t do it tho. Like I said, In My Opinion, you would have made a bad President.
Clinton and McCain win Florida. John McCain won florida with more than 75,000 votes, or 5% more of the Republican voters than Second place finisher Mitt Romney. Not The largest margin of Victory, but Impressive nonetheless, seeing as how this race was a Dead heat as late as two days ago. Congratulations to John McCain On an Excellent Victory. Clinton’s win doesn’t mean quite as much as McCain’s does here, due to the fact that The democratic party seems hell bent on marginalizing a state that has well over 1,250,000 democratic voters voting today, and that’s with 72% of the vote in, but it is still an impressive Victory. Hillary is currently Beating The Pants off of Barack Obama, Winning by, at this point in the proceedings, 249,262 votes, Winning with an 18% Margin, 50% to 32%. Well Done Hillary! Way To Go!
I Unfortunately have not had a chance to re-listen to the state of the Union. If I get a Chance to I will. Not that it matters much tho, but I want to break it down, if only for myself. Bush is a Lame duck. His day is done, and I am happy about that. Anyone will be better than Georgie Porgie. The Future looks bright just with him almost out of the picture.
Now Onto personal stuff.
Longest run in several months, and No Pain! Nice! 5.45 Miles in 43:40.59 8:00.84 M/M Pace , 36 Degrees and a Little drizzle. No Pain in my lower left leg, or my back, or my neck. I had one stop at the four mile marker, and it was a Nasty one. Nasty in that I actually got sick to my stomach after i started coughing. Apparently the Gag reflex kicked in and next thing Ya know, There’s my coffee and snacky cakes, there on the side of the trail in the park. It just wasn’t right, and it did affect the rest of the run, insofar as I had an acid reflux type of thing for the rest of the run. I wasn’t running fast today, so I guess it must have just been from running this distance for the first time in months. No real worries tho. 5 1/2 miles is good for The Rhino. I am happy with my effort. My workout was semi light today. 20 minutes of kick and punch drills, 10+ minutes worth of Pushups and Deep knee bends, call it 11 sets of each, and then the usual crunches, lateral bridges and Chinups. 36:56.32 total sweat time. First time in a while that i’ve pushed over one hour 15 minutes total run and workout sweat time. I’m a little sore, but ya know…I Like It. Feels like I’ve been working hard, and that’s always a Good thing.
Played some guitar today, not much tho. One good thing is that almost all of it has been On the Electric guitar. scales, both pentatonic and regular major and minor in all keys, No modal work yet, Think I’m gonna hit lydian today. there is some stuff in Guitar world done in lydian that I want to check out, jazz stuff, that looks interesting, lydian arpeggios, and semi arpeggiated riffing. looks nice. Gonna give it a shot. I did do some arpeggio work on the electric, some large ones, 2+ octaves in major key, and a few smaller ones, Those were minor 7th arpeggios. Did some speed work, and I have to be honest, a small amount of effects goes a long way towards making it sound good. The same stuff I do on the acoustic when done on the electric, with only a bit of chorus and a fuzz box, sounds a Million times better. The speed work was a wonder to behold. Truly nice. I did some hard and fast metal rhythm work as well, Ripping at 8 billion miles an hour. Chromatic. Atonal. Evil sounding. FUN! The Rhino was Making Thunder Tonight!
That’s about it for me. Gonna go play the acoustic some and watch and or listen to some more election news. Go Jam!
Today’s Nuggets, courtesy of http://www.friesian.com/quotes.htm: Mankind soon learn to make interested uses of every right and power which they possess, or may assume. The public money and public liberty, intended to have been deposited with three branches of magistracy, but found inadvertently to be in the hands of one only, will soon be discovered to be sources of wealth and dominion to those who hold them; distinguished, too, by this tempting circumstance, that they are the instrument, as well as the object of acquisition. With money we will get men, said Caesar, and with men we will get money. Nor should our assembly be deluded by the integrity of their own purposes, and conclude that these unlimited powers will never be abused, because themselves are not disposed to abuse them. They should look forward to a time, and that not a distant one, when a corruption in this, as in the country from which we derive our origin, will have seized the heads of government, and be spread by them through the body of the people; when they will purchase the voices of the people, and make them pay the price. Human nature is the same on every side of the Atlantic, and will be alike influenced by the same causes. The time to guard against corruption and tyranny, is before they shall have gotten hold of us. It is better to keep the wolf out of the fold, than to trust to drawing his teeth and claws after he shall have entered. Thomas Jefferson
