Good News. The Economy seems to have made a Turn for the better, if only for a Moment, although I’m hoping for long term stability instead of a One day turn-around and then a return to crap. The dow after taking it hard in the ass for a quite a while, it had lost something like 1,100 points in the last 9 days, made a Giant leap forward today, Going up almost 300 points In heavy trading. Well it sounds pretty damned heavy anyway, over half a billions stocks traded today. But there doesn’t seem to be that much of a Ripple effect in the world markets. Only the Nikkei Is Up of all the Major overseas markets, the Dax and the FTSE In Germany and Britain are down, as is the Hang Seng In Hong Kong. I really hope the Market pulls out of the doldrums here. I don’t want to see this turn into a Full blown recession, or worse, a depression. The difference? A recession can be relatively light and short, and a Depression is a Lot more long lasting and more severe. Overly simplistic yes, but I am not an economist, I’m just a citizen hoping for good economic fortunes and telling what little I know and simply reporting facts that I happen to catch here and there.
But where did this Upturn in the Market come from? The fed dropped rates by 3/4 of a % yesterday in hopes of stimulating the Economy, and while no one bit yesterday, they seemed to be in a more generous mood today. Let’s all hope it lasts more than one day.
NEWS FLASH: POLITICIANS ARE ASSHOLES!!!
Ok Maybe not much of a news flash, but you understand that it’s the truth, and It can’t be reported unless it’s true. I think.
Part 1: Bush Is an Asshole: The President and His most senior staff, in the two years following 9/11 and leading up to the war in Iraq, made a Total of 935 False statements about the risk posed by Iraq, with the largest offenders being The President with 260 and Colin Powell, with 244. Also making he list are Dick Cheney, Condoleeza Rice, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, and Scott McClellan. I’d like to get my hands on transcripts and just toss a few out there for you all to read, to give you a sense, gentle reader, of the Misguided evil foisted on Us by our president.
Part 2: Clinton and Obama are assholes: A Big Thank you to the People at www.FactCheck.org for this one. I didn’t realize how full of it these two were in the debate until I checked this site, although, being an untrusting soul, I may have to factcheck the factcheckers, if it’s at all possible. There were misrepresenttations and outright lies on both sides of the Clinton Obama mess. If this site is right Both sides lied about their own statements about just about everything that was debated and spoken about in that heated beginning of hostilities on that stage in Myrtle beach. Lies and misrepresentations will not keep me from voting for someone, In Large part because it has been happening in politics probably as long as there has been politics. there were lies told by and about each one of those two, and that’s what happens, It’s called mudslinging. I thought Edwards came out as close to on top as he could get just by keeping himself above the fray, although he was taken to task here for quoting an old poll saying he was the best candidate to beat John McCain.
Both Parties. Full Of Shit. There’s a Shock. All these candidates run as being for change. I don’t see any change. and I’m not surprised.
Now Onto My personal stuff.
Run Distance: 3.45 miles Run Time: 26:30.08 Minute per mile pace 7:40.89 Temperature: 35 Degrees Wind: 10mph, gusting to 20 I Had one stop today at the 2.8 mile marker. beyond that everything was good, I pushed kinda hard early and took my foot off of the gas around mile two or so. I did get the feeling that I was just spinning my wheels out there today, not really getting anywhere fast, so I pushed for all I Could, until I figured out that I was moving semi fast. I’m not really ready for fast yet. I’m still not in good enough shape to run FAST fast quite yet. But there was No pain While I was running today, which was beautiful, but I can feel it which means it’s not %100, but it’s close and getting closer. Workout was Light. 33 minutes worth of Deep knee bends and Shadow boxing, and a few sets of crunches, some lateral bridges and two sets of Chin-ups. 38:52.54 total sweat time. Needed to go light today, i’m wiped, as I was before, I didn’t get enough sleep….Again. I’m Gonna catch up on it tonight tho, no worries.
I played guitar for a bit but not for too long, call it 45 minutes to an hour. The highlight was just jamming along to the music on xm, several songs, more or less at random, the ones That really left an imprression were Rush “Tom Sawyer” and Incubus “Drive” both relatively easy to play along with, both In E Minor…. well at least both worked well in E Minor. I did some scale work, but not that much, some arpeggios but not too many, some alternate picking exercises. All good, but I am unhappy. I wanted to record today, but It’s getting late and I’m just barely able to keep my eyes open, so it’s not happening now…. No Worries tho, I’ll hit if friday.
That’s it For me. See ya tomorrow. Jam On.

There is something so far-fetched and so extravagant in the idea of danger to liberty from the militia that one is at a loss whether to treat it with gravity or with raillery; whether to consider it as a mere trial of skill, like the paradoxes of rhetoricians; as a disingenuous artifice to instill prejudices at any price; or as the serious.
