Anagram: Tired As Hell/ The Dalliers

That’s me.  Tired as hell.  Enjoy a viddy.

  1114b

Busted my ass all week.  Over 50 hours each of the last two weeks, and the commute is a pain in the ass, but it’s a job. And at this point it looks like it’ll be a permanent position, and fairly soon.  I’ve gotten news from “them”, unofficial, but from a person high enough up in the organization to know, that the offer will come soon and will be comparable to what I was being paid at DPW, maybe even a wee bit more.  Nothing official, like I said, but things are looking good.  And the offer date should come in sometime in mid august.  All i gotta do is hold up my end of the bargain and keep busting my ass.  I’ll catch up on my sleep later.  No worries.

Good news about money is always welcome here. That means I can begin to pay down the debt on my credit cards instead of just paying minimums.  Might even be able to save a buck or two. T’would be nice.

And the second half of the blog title is a truism as well.  I’ve been dallying with the blog here.  Could have written it on several occasions before, but never got to it.  I needed to run, and work out.  I needed to play guitar, haven’t been playing much at all and playing is a goodness in my life, one which has been sorely missed.  I needed to take my wife to dinner after her having an absolutely miserable day on the outside.  That kind of dallying.  I really haven’t been able to keep up with the news events of the week all that much, been very much running and gunning all week.

The Gates thing i kinda missed.  OK completely missed.  Heard people talking about it but never got fully up to speed on exactly what happened.  The story as I know it reads like this.  A neighbor or someone was an asshole and called the cops because mister gates was home. Thought he was an intruder.  Cops come over, don’t know who professor gates is, draw him out of the house and arrest him.  Hilarity ensues. Cops come out looking dumb.  President calls cops names. Cops get pissed, President offers them a beer, everyone relaxes.

Sounds right? I dunno.  Sounds like a cheesy soap opera plot.

Let’s see, what else… Some dumb ass from Long Island or something joined Al-Qaeda. Probably a disgruntled Islanders/Jets/Mets fan. The ousted President of Honduras made his way back home for a Publicity stunt. The soldiers were polite enough not to blow his brains out.  Maybe next time.

Health care reform looks to be coming some time this fall, because there isn’t enough time to get a serious bill through the House of representatives right now, especially with the opposition having some strength of argument, in loudness and rhetoric if not facts.  Nice as far as it goes, but I don’t know everything there is to know about this bill, but I’ll do some research and see what the plan is to bring down costs and get some kind of info out to the world.  I know other places like the New York Times and the Washington Post and other places will do the same, but I want to do it for myself, rather than read what someone else says the bill will do. I’m just like that.

Rather than read a story about the legislation, I’ll read the legislation.  Get the news not from a storyteller but from the source directly.  Cut out the middleman.

As I started with a Beatles viddy, I’ll end with one.  One of My fav Beatles songs.  Norwegian Wood (This bird has flown)

   That’s it for me.  Later!

Hokusai_DragonToday’s nuggets, By Gerry Spense, Via wikiquote:  Today the insatiable quest for profit promotes the new slavery. In bewildering ways, the new is more pernicious than the old, for the New American Slave is told he is free, and he clings to that myth as if his life depended upon it, a suspicion that cannot be totally ignored.

Words that do not create images should be discarded. Words that have no intrinsic emotional or visual content ought to be avoided. Words that are directed to the sterile intellectual head-place should be abandoned. Use simple words, words that create pictures and action and that generate feeling.

There are only two races (and they are not distinguished by color): those who are free and those who are not.
