I could have easily gone with “Against Randy” but I’m not that interested in Randy Johnson to be “against” him, and I don’t know anyone else named Randy. There are other places I could go with the word randy, but I digress. A viddy from Bloomberg from a few months ago, talking of GM Bondholders.
Today’s title is about a little ranting that went back and forth on Facebook today between me (from Richmond County, New York) and some guy (from Richmond, Virginia)
Battle of the Richmonds. Here it is, in it’s entirety. Nearly. I don’t have his actual starting shot, but it was about The President, and his followers being more like a “furor” than a President. He meant Fuhrer and SS (see his first response) and that’s where the argument starts. Misspellings included.

Him: isn’t that the way all “supporters” of Obama act. However I was refering to the German word that was used to refer to Hitler. If I spelled it wrong then I am sorry.
Me: Not really, Obama supporters, like those who don’t support Obama, are simply Americans, trying their best to get by day to day, like everyone else.
It wasn’t just the misspell I was going after, but also the concept that somehow Obama is evil or or democrats are bad for America or something.
Everyone has an agenda, and that agenda never seems to be all inclusive, it’s always “The other guy” some clear demagogue who has it in for America. And invariably, it’s wrong. “His agenda is bad and my sides agenda is good”, and it’s that clear cut, if you listen to what people say.
Except it’s never that easy, or clear. Obama isn’t a bad guy. Neither is Boehner, or Pelosi, or Pence or Ensign or anyone. The problem is us fighting amongst ourselves over labels. We should be trying to find common ground upon which to build a common base of support so that all Americans can work together, not at cross purposes, fighting one another and calling each other names in the name of moral superiority or some such bullshit like we are now.

The teachers that owned bonds with GM and Chrysler are going to have to eat dog food because their retirement has be distroyed. If they had been allowed to fail then the bondholders would have been paid first. It amazes me that it is ok to distroy contract law. The core of our soceity and the liberals say nothing. But is Bush rounds up people holding guns in Afgahanistan and throws them in a hole until they tell us what they know. He Shoves a few of them in a box with a catterpiller and scares them into talking. For 2 or 3 big daddy thugs that actually planned 9/11 we water board them to get them to talk. This is a procedure that our own soldiers go through to be trained for anti-torture treatment. He is a bad guy for this. We have been safe for 8 years and he is a satin. The man distroyed him popularity and his legacy to keep us safe and we spit on him. Now this pres. has blamed the prior admin for more than any pres has ever scapegoated and he gets a pass. 60 or so percent of us are fed up with the games. When we are done with the Obama plan we will not be the USA anymore but something else. I am having trouble getting out of bed because I will be taxed so much for earning and acheiving above and beyond statis que. In Obama’s America there is no place for an indivisual, no place for an acheiver. You should spread it around it isn’t for you to hoard. We work for the gov’t in this country until April. You cannot count 1 penny you earn as yours until May. Canada works for the Government until July. With the taxes that Obama will have to put into place for his new america we will work until Sept for the government. But we will have government services. Well thanks but KEEP THE CHANGE.
Me: MILLIONAIRES AND BILLIONAIRES are whom you defend. The mass of those Bondholders were and are, wealthy. Teachers UNIONS not individual teachers, and those unions own millions more in other bonds.

No destruction of Contract law has occured. The dissolution of inidividual contracts is legal if both sides agree to dissolve them, which is what happened here.
The pro torture rant you spit out here is pure fiction. A few, you say, get shoved in a box and water board a few of them, and it’s ok, right? Wrong. The Geneva Convention and our own laws prohibit the use of these tactics. People have been sent to prisons, American Prisons for doing such things, even in war. The aim of Torture is Torture, not information gathering. It doesn’t work.
And you claim that he kept us safe? Safe? How safe were we on 9/11? I Live in New York City. I SAW the planes with my own eyes, I didn’t need a television to watch the terrorists kill our people. Safe? Are you Insane? It was on Bushes watch when that happened, when we had the biggest security lapse in our nations history. This is clearly some new usage of the word “Safe” that didn’t exist before you grabbed hold of the word.
I’m more anti-terrorist than you. I’m also more Pro-freedom than you. If they can torture the terrorists little brother, they can torture us as well. THAT is the legacy of the torture program, plain and simple.
Taxes, brother have gone DOWN, if you haven’t noticed. The previous administration built up a $10,000,000,000,000 deficit. The current administration has added spending, one tenth of that number, to ease the burden of the previous years of governmental abuse of the system by billionaires trying to get richer off of the sweat of our labor. Now you claim onerous and painful taxation and excessive government in your life?

Most of your claims are fantasy and propaganda and rhetoric backed up by not one ounce of truth.
This is Not Obama’s America. It is yours, and mine, and everyone’s America. The changes of the last few months have done no damage. The Amount of Government and Government interference in our lives has dramatically altered in our lives, tis true. The amount has DECREASED.

Taxation is no more onerous than it was during the previous administration.
Torture is ALWAYS evil.
Bush did NOT keep us safe.

Government is no more in your life than it was 15 years ago.

See how I spend my time when I’m not Blogging! I personally think I won on style points (I know how to construct a sentence AND a paragraph) Spelling (I only misspelled 3 words, he logged 18) And actual common sense. But I do show some flaws.
Not mentioning that what happened to those GM and Chrysler bondholders does happen in normal non-executive branch led bankruptcies, and there are people who sometimes lose money, lots of it, if they are heavily invested in a failed company. But there will be no Dog food eating, as it was suggested, if these people had ANY scruples about investing at all. The old saying “never keep all your eggs in one basket” comes to mind. … And also by saying that we should find common ground and purpose, and in my next post ripping him to shreds. There are other things. I was right on, as far as I am concerned with most of it, but I am not perfect, and it showed.
