Not a Commie

        Just a few viddys today, I’ve had a busy day yet again and I am a bit tired, and as a consequence, the blogs gets short and filled with videos and pictures and the like.   Yes that has been happening a lot lately, but ya know, circumstances dictate actions here like everywhere else, and if I could give more i would.  Doesn’t mean I’m any less opinionated, just means I get to vent less.

     No big deal.  First up a video with Nouriel Roubini and Robert Shiller.

     

       The most important words in the video are the last “…if something like the consumer financial protection agency, something like that ,could have been done, it could have prevented the whole sub-prime crisis” Prevent that, and the whole economic meltdown is avoided.  The sub-prime mortgage crisis was the first domino in the chain. If it doesn’t fall the system is much more stable, much more secure.  Much less is at risk, much less happens than did.  It doesn’t mean the world would be just hunky dory.  GM and Chrysler would have still been a mess.  We would have as a nation been in a much better position to help them, and in helping them help ourselves be a stronger more productive nation.

    Enough of that though. 

      

    The running of the bulls is happening in Pamplona, Spain.  I have made no bones about wanting to do this, to go run with the bulls.  Today’s news of a mans death at the running gives me no pause at all.  It was an accident.  The man who was gored in the neck was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and got caught by a bull running alone.  The bull not only killed him, but hurt nine other people, and as you can tell from the video, there was not anything the man could do.  But watch the video, the man is looking at the camera, with the bull coming in behind him.  THAT may have been what killed him.  His attention not being on the matter at hand, I.E. 1000 pounds of pissed off beef with horns the size of swords bearing down on him at full speed.  

    Ya gotta pay attention, those horns ain’t just ornaments.  Still, mistakes happen, a prayer for the man is in order I think, and his family as well.
