I start with Stephen Colbert, well… because he kicks ass! I mean How could I not! He is a household name, he knows a great deal about politics and speaks to all the most important people in politics, He created Tek Jansen, and his name makes such a nifty anagram! How could I not!!!
The real reason I mention Stephen Colbert is that I was on comedy central’s Indecision 2008 website before and I watched yesterday’s “The Word” segment, in which he said he wanted to be a speaker at the Democratic National Convention, Just Like Hillary Clinton! I hope he gets to speak. Hell, I want to speak as well, and there’s only a few things stopping me. No One Knows who I am. No One Cares who I am. I have no connections. I have nothing to say. Large crowds drive me to insane anger. I think most humans suck. I’ll probably be in work the nights of the convention. I live an inconvenient 2,000+ miles away from the convention with no way to get there. There’s only one thing to do i guess.
BEG STEPHEN TO TAKE ME WITH HIM!!!! PLEASE OH PLEASEY PLEASY PLEASE!!!!! I WANNA GO!!!! OH PLEASES???? I’LL BUY YOU ALL THE DORITOS YOU CAN EAT (secretly paid for by the federal government, of course)
Am I serious, you ask? I answer you with a question of my own! IS STEPHEN? If not then, It’s cool, no worries.
I should have picked a different headline for today. Deals and Agreements day would have fit much better today. Just open up the google news page. That’s all you need to do to see what i mean. A deal between Mugabe and Tsvangirai in Zimbabwe. A cease Fire in the Georgia Russia Conflict. Navy Agrees to limit submarine detecting sonar. As far as that goes, this is a truly happy day.
Filled with joy at the end to The long standing ZANU-PF/MDC bullshit that’s been going on since march, which means the government can now focus on fixing what was once the most powerful Economy in Africa, shattered into complete disarray with the horrible Mismanagement by the Mugabe regime. What’s the inflation rate there, 3,000,000%? some insane number like that. Maybe now they can concentrate on making it possible to buy a loaf of bread for less than a few billion Zimbabwean dollars. Truly good news. I want to see how far this agreement really goes before I celebrate though. Until I know everything is really honestly fixed, I won’t be 100% happy, because the Zimbabweans won’t be.
Atrocities on both sides of The Georgia Russia Conflict, Thousands dead in only a few days, 100,000+ made homeless, but there is good news. A cease fire has been declared! Joy! I have to tell you that while I thought it was going to be worse than this, go longer with more dead, more damage, and the Pipeline taken over by the Russians. Glad to see that it is not as bad as I thought it would be.
I have to tell you though, there were people out there who thought this thing was going to turn into WWIII(not I), who thought the U.S. was going to have to get involved, (that was me. sorry) who thought that this was manufactured by the U.S., (not I) Who thought it was going to possibly reignite cold war tensions (that was me again, oops) Who thought the U.S. were going to get involved and there was going to be nuclear war (not I) and that evil America was going to receive it’s comeuppance (Definitely not I).
Good to know that I am only very slightly paranoid.
Odd thing is, normally i am usually fairly well left of center. When this hit, I suddenly found myself to the right of most of the people whom I normally align myself with politically. I was thinking that It would not be too bad of a thing to watch us Bomb the crap out of Putin’s army, no matter how much of a piece of shit this Saakashvili is. Putin is a Former KGB Operative and I would not have minded seeing the last Russian cold warrior flinch under American Might.
That’s Me. Left leaning libertarian Mikey showing his Angry Cold War Roots. ROOTS BLOODY ROOTS!!!
Bad Mikey. Stop That! LOL.
A Video For you. ROOTS BLOODY ROOTS!!!!!
That’s It for me. Later! oh, BTW, when I first read the first quote I am putting in my nuggets, I thought INSTANTLY of John McCain.
Today’s Nuggets, Via Wikiquote: Language has always been important in politics, but language is incredibly important to the present political struggle. Because if you can establish an atmosphere in which information doesn’t mean anything, then there is no objective reality. The first show we did, a year ago, was our thesis statement: What you wish to be true is all that matters, regardless of the facts Of course, at the time, we thought we were being farcical. Stephen Colbert
A leader is best when people barely know that he exists, not so good when people obey and acclaim him, worst when they despise him. Fail to honor people, They fail to honor you. But of a good leader, who talks little, when his work is done, his aims fulfilled, they will all say, “We did this ourselves.” Lao Tzu
