I thought that the Snowbird would be a nice touch after such a scorcher today. Politics is up first.
I am reading a story from the Columbus Dispatch here about how voters who voted for Hillary are really unsure of what to do when it comes to the Election In November. The area where this story comes from, a place called Hanging Rock, Ohio, is an area they call “Socially Conservative” An area that they say has Backers of Both candidates but also has enough questions about both where they really at this point don’t know where to turn. The story paints a picture of people who don’t trust Sen. Obama because of his “God and Guns” comments from just prior to the Pennsylvania primary. But they also have doubts about Sen. McCain because they think a McCain presidency will be a continuation of President Bush’s Policies, and they don’t think America can afford more of that. to read the story, click here
Can’t say as I off hand blame them for the Distrust of Sen. McCain, but the Off-hand comments by Sen. Obama are something less of an issue in my eyes. Let me tell you why. Just because he said what he said there does not mean that if push comes to shove he won’t fight for you. Both Candidates will tell you they’ll fight for you, but the truth of it can be seen in what they put out there for you to see.
Senator McCain, For example, wants to Help the Middle class by dropping the Alternate Minimum Tax, which is a bit deceptive, because the AMT is a tax which is generally used to keep those with very high incomes from paying little or no taxes. This tax has been used of late on people with lower and lower incomes, but when I say lower incomes, I am talking about those who generally make a Minimum of $75,000 – $200,000 per year. Now I don’t know about you, But that Low number there is twice what I make in a year. I always thought of Myself as middle class. OK, Maybe lower middle class with that level of Income, But I have enough to get by and pay my bills.
Now that doesn’t mean that Senator McCain doesn’t have any plan to help people who really need help. But I really haven’t seen one. If you have, By all means, drop me a line and let me know.
Senator Obama has a more realistic plan, from my perspective, about the concept of cutting taxes on the middle class. Tax Credits of up to $500 per person and $1,000 per family, a plan that according to The Senator’s Website will completely cut Income taxes for 10,000,000 Americans.
Now, I am not so Naive as to take either Candidates word for it. But I am guessing that with the skewing of saving tax money for the upper middle class by Senator McCain, and the greater help for the lower middle class and and those working below the poverty line, that Senator Obama has his eye more in tune with the wants and needs of the average American.
The story also seems to Say that Race is going to be a major Issue there, as well as through Appalachia. Well, let me talk directly to those in that area. Do you think His skin color will make him less able to do the job of President? George W. Bush is whiter than I am and I’m damn near Opaque, and what the hell has he done but destroy the economy? Sen. Obama has a clear thinking head on his shoulders and he is smart enough to lead us out of our financial doldrums.
How long have the Republicans been in power? 7 years? Something like that, now what has happened in that time? The story says that everything has gone up except Pay. Do you think that these two things aren’t interconnected?
The Republicans are AMAZINGLY Reactionary when it comes to Fiscal policy. We are in debt up to our eyeballs because of them. It was the Case during the Reagan era, It was the case when George Bush Sr. was President. And it is now, with Georgie Porgie in the White House. Debt always amasses when there is a Republican in the White House. That Debt is passed onto us, we get to pay for it, and that debt is NEVER Paid down. Bill Clinton gave us the First real relief from it when he was President, and Barack Obama will bring back those good ole days of low debt and make it easier for us to be able to afford the things we need to survive.
We would not be in this economic mess if it wasn’t for the Republicans and their inability to work well with numbers. They still cling to the old, tired “Tax and Spend” liberal Tag in hopes that you won’t look at their policies and instead will just look with an overly critical eye at Democratic Economic Policy. Do ya know what the Republican tag should be?
“Spend and Spend” Conservatives. Conserving their money for themselves. And ya know what that means, The debt adds up because they take what profit there is for themselves, and the debt gets passed to your children and you later on down the road while prices go up and up and make it more difficult for you to pay for stuff now, while promising you a larger government bill later on, one that you wont be able to afford. Your children will be in debt, and you will die in debt, and much deeper than any human should have to, after all this isn’t a third world country, you shouldn’t have to at all, but you will, thanks to the Republicans typical overspending and overreaching that helps no one but the Wealthy, while charging themselves not a thing.
Want more of That? Vote for McCain. If you want someone who’s gonna look out for your best interests and the best interests of All Americans, not just the Wealthy, Vote for Obama.
That’s my take on that, and that’s all for politics, Economic policy, and Opinion, Onto Sweat and Videos.
Run: 4 Miles in 33:05.59 for a M/M Pace of 8:16.39. MAN I busted my ass out there today. I mean REALLY Busted my ass. I was hurting something fierce after this. Felt like My left Kidney wanted to fall out. Had to stop twice because of it. I’m not sure why it happened, but I tell ya, it had me ready to scream it hurt so bad. I had to take an extended break just to wait for the pain to subside. Which it did, but I’m sure it had something to with the other thing that got me, which was the Heat. 94 degrees and humid when i walked out the door. I had to stop a few times today because of the heat. I couldn’t keep going, and I had planned on not stopping and just going slow. Well, I went slow, but I had to stop, the heat just pounded me like a sledgehammer the whole time i was out there.

Today’s Nuggets: A great industrial Nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the Nation and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the world ~ no longer a Government of free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of small groups of dominant men. Woodrow Wilson
The real truth of the matter is, as you and I know, that a financial element in the larger centers has owned the Government ever since the days of Andrew Jackson — and I am not wholly excepting the Administration of W.W. The country is going through a repetition of Jackson’s fight with the Bank of the United States — only on a far bigger and broader basis. Franklin Delano Roosevelt
