Tomorrow is the End of the Primary season. JOY!….or something. Will we have a Democratic Nominee? Nope, but we will be close enough to make the call fairly soon afterwards, I think. And as Much as I am a Hearty Supporter of Hillary Clinton, I cannot help but think That the winner here, and I’ve been saying it for a few weeks now, will be Barack Obama.
Now I am looking at the Delegate situation here, and while neither Barack or Hillary will have enough delegates, You can look at this situation, and with calls for taking this to the Convention floor in Denver, I cannot help but think that this is going to end badly for the Democrats. Hopefully One or the other will get enough super delegates to make the point about delegates being “stolen” in Michigan a moot point.
Personally I hope they go for Hillary, But I don’t think I would be overly bothered if They went for Barack either. Just because they are both excellent candidates. If these two weren’t excellent candidates that appealed to Large swaths of the Populous, they would not have gotten this far into the process. You cannot really make an argument about one or the Other Not really being deserving. Both sides here deserve applause and all the love you can muster for them. They Love America. They Love working for the People. They have given everything they possibly could for the cause. That cause is you. That Cause is America.
Polling data, from the fine people at American Research Group, shows a small lead for Barack Obama in Montana, a 4% lead, 48%-44%, with 8% undecided and a Margin of error of 4%. The Same people are saying that Hillary should win South Dakota Pretty Handily, 60 -34% with 6% undecided and a 4% M.O.E.
Meaning that the Delegate split tomorrow should be around near but not at 50-50. call it 17 for Hillary and 14 for Barack if it shakes out like this, maybe 16-15. Which means that Barack will only need 30 or so super delegates to say he’s got the Nomination wrapped up. I think, Not certain here, that there are about 160 or so left out there. I could be wrong…. Checking the numbers now…wow.. more then I thought… 195 supers out there. I checked a List from a Blog that dates sometime In march, but the Numbers section reads as being Updated today. Check the blog here. …the actual # is 195.5 Hmmm… Must be a Few Undeclared Michigan and Florida Supers out there for there to be a fraction in there. I thought the Supers got Full votes regardless of the states they were in. I’ll check that tomorrow and get you info if it’s there to be gotten.
I am now reading a Blog from the New York Daily News This may be, if it Happens, THE Story of the Week, maybe of the Month. Quoting the Blogpost in the news. “Hillary Clinton has taken the unusual step of summoning top donors and supporters to her speech in New York tomorrow night, which is being seen as a sign she’s indeed ready to drop out.” END QUOTES For the whole blog, click here
Now the key to that entire quote is what ISN’T Said. Being Seen as a sign BY WHOM? If it’s just by Elizabeth Benjamin, then it means nothing, but if it’s Harold Ickes or someone else saying this, THEN it means It’s Over.
If it is Over, and I hope it isn’t, I would be deeply disheartened and disappointed. I have been following this process for at least a year, and It would be a letdown to see the end of not just the Primary process, but the end of MY candidates campaign. Most disheartening with it ending differently than I had hoped. I have fought long and hard to convince the world and anyone that would listen that Hillary is the Best candidate out there. I have pushed to make sure that the populous is as informed as possible about how each of the candidates feel about as many important subjects as I could wrap my head around. I have argued with Obama Supporters. I have argued with Naderettes. I have done everything I could. So have a great many others, from Hillary to every Pro-Hillary blogger from all four corners of the earth to every one on the ground in every city and every state who worked Tirelessly for her, and the cause.
It apparently wasn’t enough. Dammit.
That’s about it for The Politics. Onto Personal stuff.
Run: 4 Miles in 32:21.13 8:05.28 M/M Pace. 2 Laps in the park today, with 2 minutes,15 seconds worth of walk break today. That would make it 3.8 miles in 30:06 if you don’t count the stops. I count them because they happened. But still that’s not too bad.
It was pretty warm out there, 82 degrees. Warm, Not hot, Warm. I pushed pretty hard out there in spots, Could not go all out, not four days into my running regimen after almost 7 weeks off of running. I lost a Lot of Fitness in that time, and I gained about 10-15 pounds in that time. It’ll take time for me to get back to that shape i was in, where I could run for 13+ miles sub 7:30 m/m, But I am happy with where I am right now. I’ll get back to that. No pain in that hurt foot. NICE! I have sore quads but that’s to be expected, with 3 days off, and only a few days back from that long Convalescence.
Guitar: I haven’t played since I woke up at 3 pm this afternoon, But I played a LOT before that. I went to sleep at around 10:30 a.m. and played On the Staten Island Ferry, I played a Bit at work On Chordbook.com jam session area Had fun just playing around there, for the better part of forty five minutes. The Boat was perhaps my best playing of the day. I was just Improvising on stuff that I have played and written before, altering it slightly, sometimes altering key, sometimes just altering a note or two to turn a Major scale or Blues run just a little off the beaten path. Change one note in an eight note riff and the whole riff is altered by that single note moving, as little as One half step. Change two and you might as well call it a completely different riff. Try this. Play the beginning riff to a Song, any song that you know well. Move two notes. I did this with a Journey song. “Don’t stop believing” I moved two notes, the g# and c#. Play that. Trust me, the Difference is amazing.
Alter the Timing on that riff, Play it faster as well and it can be made into METAL!
Speaking of METAL! Time for Videos!!!!

I don’t like the idea of missionaries. In fact the whole business fills me with fear and alarm. I don’t believe in God, or at least not in the one we’ve invented for ourselves in England to fulfil our peculiarly English needs, and certainly not in the ones they’ve invented in America who supply their servants with toupees, television stations and, most importantly, toll-free telephone numbers. I wish that people who did believe in such things would keep them to themselves and not export them to the developing world. I sat watching the Miami hats as they gazed out of the window at Africa – between an immensity of land and an immensity of sky they sat there, incomprehensible, smiling at a continent. I think Conrad said something similar about a boat. Douglas Adams
