Anagram: I love the Snow/I Won Hovel Set
It’s a beautiful evening here on Staten Island. Sitting here in front of the Computer, occasionally getting up to look out at the frozen snow covered landscape in front of my apartment, listening to music, with my Cup of coffee slowly getting cold, and trying to think of words you can’t ignore, words that will have some power to move you, not in a direction I want you to go, but in whatever way you want to go. Beautiful words that make everything feel good, better than it did before you read this. So here I go:
Regardless of what happens In November, America will be ok. We’re still Americans, all basically good people. Why do we fight so much? Not over what we want. What we want, we all want. We want a day with peace. We want a day where we don’t have to worry about our government, where we can just worry about whatever is going on in our lives. We want to be happy with what we have, and what we can get in our future. OUR future. We want to not have to feel like everyday is a fight that we have drag ourselves through.
We can have that, it’s within our grasp. and it doesn’t matter who we choose for President. It doesn’t matter at all. First because any president will be Better than the one we have now. But even if that wasn’t the case, it’ll STILL be alright. We’re still the toughest, most resilient people on earth, made that way by Years of hardship and struggle to get to where we are now. We may not be perfect, but we try, which is the Important thing. So long as we try everyday to make the world just a little better, it’ll all be ok.
I know I’ve probably said it several times before, but I’m going to refute something I’ve said in this space several times before. Our freedom is Not in Permanent danger. No matter who next holds the White House. The current occupants injustices can and will be undone. Nothing a little hard work in the first few days of the next presidency can’t fix. Habeus Corpus will be fixed. Every freedom undone will be replaced. We are a Nation Of Laws. The Constitution is still in effect. So is the Bill of Rights. We are not, nor will we be in a Dictatorship or totalitarian regime, not while the Fire of Freedom burns in our Hearts. Let the naysayers have there say, let them speak in terms of fear. There day will soon be done, and a new dawn of freedom will arise. Then the World will again see what we Americans are really about. And we will see it again. And that is a Happy Thing.
Damn. The Coffee got cold when I was Writing. Ah well, I drank a fair bit of it before i got to the writing anyway. Tis Ok.
Music: I haven’t played that much so far today, but I’m gonna play after I make dinner. I should have a few hours to play with, after dinner and taking out the garbage. No worries. Rarely do I go into my day with a plan on what I am going to play, but things, as you have read here follow a general routine. Ya know. Alternate Picking exercises, followed by the scale exercises, modal exercises if i remember to do them, songs and chord progressions in between each of these to break thing up a bit. I’m gonna play along with the radio again today. Got a new One today too…radio I mean. It’s nice. Even has an Honest to G-d Phonograph in it. and a Tape player. For the First Time in YEARS i will be able to listen to (and in fact have started to) all the albums and tapes I haven’t been able to play. Already played Jethro Tull “Heavy Horses” Joe Satriani’s “Surfing with the Alien”…play with a few songs there, I forgot most of the stuff i could play but I was there on a few melody lines at least….Stormtroopers of Death “Speak English or Die” Nothing says Love quite like the “Milano Mosh” Great stuff. also busted out the tape player and Played Tony MacAlpine’s “edge of insanity” for the first time in over 10 years. Nice. Hell, This might be the first time in a long time I go a whole night Without Listening to Political news on XM. …Maybe, maybe not, we’ll see. I Like keeping up on things, so i might have to, at least a little, if only to satisfy my curiosity as to what’s going on out there. If you don’t listen, you might miss something. Either way, Things are good.
Fun. I have it.
And On that Note, I am out. Jam On!
Today’s Nuggets: Government, in my humble opinion, should be formed to secure and to enlarge the exercise of the natural rights of its members; and every government, which has not this in view, as its principal object, is not a government of the legitimate kind. James Wilson
We are monumentally distracted by a pervasive technological culture that appears to have a life of its own, one that insists on our full attention, continually seducing us and pulling us away from the opportunity to experience directly the true meaning of our own lives. Al Gore
