Mikey the Rhino’s Great American Rantfest

  The White house had it’s feet held to the fire today by the House Of Representatives today.  In a Vote today the House Voted that two White house staffers will be held in Contempt of Congress.  The two staffers, Current White house Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and Former White House Counsel Harriet Meirs are in contempt of Congress due to Not answering questions asked in a Congressional Inquiry Involving The attorney Firings in 2006.    The  House Judiciary Chairman, Rep. John Conyers, says that Congress has the right to hear about the shakeup from White house Officials.  Quoting The Representative, via Cnn: “There was plenty of evidence in our report that showed and suggested there had been many lines crossed between appropriateness and inappropriateness, legality and illegality, and perhaps constitutional violations as well,”  End Quote.   The White House seems to think That Invoking Executive privilege is enough to block the efforts of congress from Doing it’s job.  Also, Minority leader, Rep.  John Boehner said, quoting again the cnn report:  “We will not stand here and watch this floor be abused for pure political grandstanding at the expense of our national security,”   Allow me to explain where I stand here.  The Congress has a right to investigate these firings, despite the thoughts of the current resident of the White House.  It is wrong that these proceedings have been brought to a Halt by the lack of co-operation by these two government employees.  The Congress has the right to ask for help from the judiciary via the act of being held In Contempt of Congress,  even if The department that would handle it is run By the Bush white house, and have said that they will not act on the Contempt of Congress.  Justice here is Being held In contempt. The Arrogance of the White House and It’s Staffers here is Out of Control, and It needs to be curbed, and quickly.  The One good thing is that the Bill passage allows Congress to Take this to court, and do an end around around the Justice department that would sit on this and do nothing.  Hope to hear these two being called on the carpet to answer questions, ASAP.  There is too much power vested in the White house, and If this shoots a hole in that, then I am all for it.   

As far as Boehner’s comments are concerned, he’s Just an idiot.  Political Grandstanding? watch the Floor be Abused? You want to pass a Bill that would allow wiretapping to continue in the U.S.A., and you say The Dems abuse the floor and Politically Grandstand?  The Best part about this charge is that after he said that is that he and a great many Republicans skulked off of the floor.  Just walked out on the session.   If you Wanted to make a Point you should have stayed and Voted against it! Even if you lose the vote, vote anyway! Be a Man, John-Boy! Stand your ground!  It is typical GOP Political grandstanding, this walking away when your voice can be counted for something which you are against.  Makes you wonder if it was really their collective consciense that made them walk away.  That maybe, Just maybe, had he and his cronies stayed and voted their conscience, they would have been forced to voted FOR the Contempt of Congress against Meirs and Bolton because they knew it was right, but could not stray from the party line and the President.  Impossible? Don’t think it could happen?  several members of the Democratic Party voted against it, and a few Members of the Republican party stayed, most notably Ron Paul, and Voted For the Measure.  If even a few members of the Republicans stayed, they all could have held their noses and voted.  It saves them the aggravation of having to explain to the Republican Heirarchy and the President why they voted to hold The White House in Contempt, they don’t look like they are walking away from the president and the party, and can Lie through their teeth and say they Stood Up for Values, while doing what republicans usually do, and walk away from real values and Honesty in Government.  We Democrats aren’t perfect, but dammit, we aren’t a Bunch of weak-kneed sniveling assholes like this group.  It reminds me to say again something I have said here for Months.  VOTE DEMOCRATIC, SAVE AMERICA! SAVE THE WORLD!

News Flash: Mike Huckabee is still Never going to win the Republican Nomination.  Mitt Romney is Officially Endorsing Senator John McCain and asking those delegates who were pledged to him to side with and vote for McCain.  Now Mike Huckabee has to only get 150% of the Voting republicans in all the remaining states to vote for him to steal the Nomination from McCain!

Aside from the spectacular Republican stupidity today, It is Valentines Day!  Smooch yer Wife and tell her you love her, or your husband, or girlfriend or boyfriend or robotic sex toy or whatever it is your in Love with! Remember, They love you, Love them Back!  I got my wife some flowers and a Box o’ chocolates, and a Card and took her out shopping and to dinner.  We bought each other stuff, we had fun.  We were going to eat at outback steakhouse, but decide against it.  The woman at the front door said the wait would be an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes! I figure it won’t be anywhere near that long.  I would have stayed, but what turned me and the wife around and got us going right next door to TGI Friday was a guy talking out in front of Outback saying he had been waiting for over an hour. He sees a Guy walkin and get seated right away and asks what the F*** is this? They tell him that they have something called Pre call something or other, it’s basically a reservation, but without the name reservation attached to it.  silly but that’s Outback.  I heard that and me and the wife were out.  No way.   Right next door was TGI Fridays and they said 30 to 45 minutes,  and it only took 20 minutes. Had a nice meal and it was less expensive then Outback. 

Played the guitar a fair bit today, but more or less On one single piece of Music.  A song that started out as a simple major third double stop riff, and built a song out of it.  I added a chord structure to it, and also a chorus.  Chord structure is G7,D Min add9, 2 Odd chords, CMaj9, and another Odd chord.  Odd chords are named so because I cannot find them anywhere.  the ones in question are as follows, D in the bass on all of these BTW.  The odd chords are C#, B, and G#Diminished triads with a natural 5th instead of a flat 5, and the aforementioned d in the bass.  Dunno what else to call them except odd.   They are pretty chords tho.  Try one.  Fourth string open(d). third string ninth fret(e), Second string eighth fret(g), first string tenth fret(d). If anyone knows what the hell to call these things besides odd, please drop me a Line.  BTW The song is Pretty.  I’ll record it and do something with it so it can be heard here, or on youtube or myspace or someplace If and or when I can.  No practice yet.  Scales and Alternate picking in a few, after I am done here.  Might even try the song out on the wife.  we’ll see.
