Anagram: Barack Obama/Maraca Kabob

Calvin and Hobbes  Barack Obama is at It Again.  :-)   Senator Obama has Soundly defeated Hillary Clinton in Virginia tonight.  With 76% of the Vote counted, Barack Obama is beating Senator Clinton by an amazing 27%, or just slightly over 177,000 votes.  The Amazing part about it is that Barack is taking away Hillary’s base.  According to cnn exit polls, Senator Obama has taken about 60% of the Female vote in Virginia, along with the Highest Percentage of African American voters to this point in the election, a Whopping 90% of Voting African Americans.  The only demographic that Hillary has taken In Virginia is White women, and that by 10 points, Significantly less then what she did against Him on Super Tuesday, when she beat Him in that demographic by 25%.

Senator Clinton’s Deputy Campaign Manager Resigned today.  He was brought to the Clinton Campaign By Patti Solis Doyle, and with her Being “Reassigned”  he felt that it was his duty to step aside and let Her new Campaign Manager build her own staff.  I’m not sure what to make of it, except that if she wants to win this election she had best do something, and do it fast.  Sen. Obama has One Helluva head of steam going here, and he’s looking like a world beater right now.  It’s not that she can’t win, It’s that It looks more and more like the Avalanche of Support for Senator Obama is about to overwhelm her, she cannot absorb too many more losses like this.  She’s now lost 6 states in a row and she no longer has the delegate lead.

6. you say? It’s 5!  No actually it’s not.  CNN just projected that Barack Obama has won Maryland as well as Virginia.   This despite the fact that only 184 votes are counted, and Hillary has 104 of those, with Obama having 69 votes and Uncommitted having 11.  Amazing what they can do with exit polling nowadays.   But hey, they haven’t been wrong before. And he’s taken D.C as well, But That’s not a surprise.  And they are Calling the Maryland race for Senator McCain on  the Republican Side with a similar amount of votes.  210 to be exact.   122 of which have Gone to The Arizona Senator.   Sens. McCain and Obama have both pulled off clean sweeps of The Chesapeake Primaries tonight.  Congratulations to Senators Obama And McCain on three well deserved Victories This evening.

That’s It for the Politics, Onto Personal stuff.

I could have run today.  I’m not hurt or sore or anything even close to that.  I woke up early, did the food shopping, came home, and I was ready to go.  Had the running clothes on and everything, Hat, sweats, gloves, the whole nine yards.  Sat down after warming up for a Minute….And fell asleep.  Woke up with my neck kinda sore from laying back on an office chair my wife uses when she works at her Computer.  I made a decision at that point.  Go back to bed.  Went to sleep for a few hours, and woke up and just lolled around the house and puttered for a bit.  Still could have run at this point.  Still didn’t.  Looked out the window and it was snowing, light snow, It’s fun running in this kinda snow, but I just stuck around the house and Hung out with my wife.  Had fun, relaxed.  No workout, same reasoning, same reason.

Guitar: Played a Fair bit today, and had fun doing it.  Less than the usual exercises…. as a matter of fact I’m not sure I did Much of anything in the way of exercises on the guitar today.  I’m gonna have to do that after I’m done here.  Played songs and chord progressions, and melodies, by and large.  The same sixths thing that I did yesterday, along with some toying with melodies based on and built with arpeggios, both major and Minor.  Some finger-picking stuff, nothing difficult, I don’t really do that well finger-picking, and Like i have said here in this space before, I generally only use two fingers when I Finger-pick, My Thumb and Index Finger.  I will never be mistaken for Andres Segovia.   But I like the way I play and the way I sound, and as long as It’s good music, I’m Happy.

That’s about it for me here.  Gonna go play some more, and then call it an early night.  Jam On!

Today’s Nuggets:  To judge from the history of mankind, we shall be compelled to conclude that the fiery and destructive passions of war reign in the human breast with much more powerful sway than the mild and beneficent sentiments of peace; and that to model our political systems upon speculations of lasting tranquility would be to calculate on the weaker springs of human character.   Alexander Hamilton

And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with his wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep for ever.    Thomas Jefferson

  1. America’s jobless rate just hit the highest level since 1983. Nice work Barack!

  2. As if it’s his fault. He can’t “own” to use the term, what others have done. The joblessness in this nation is not his fault, and those who think it is are blind to the truth. This started back in the bush administration and before, and the job losses that have come, have come at a clip of over 600,000 a month for the last 5 months. President Obama was not in charge when this began.

What he can take credit for is any debt amassed in the bills he has passed, or overseen. The Omnibus spending package and the legislation that went through yesterday (4/2/09)

The Jobless rate is not his fault. If you need to blame someone, (a silly thing to do, but if you must, you must) Blame corporate america for its endless greed, blame the congress that passed the bill that essentially repealed glass steagall act of 1933, TY Phil Gramm, blame the American people for their endless greed.

This mess cannot be laid at the feet of one person or even one political party. This is America’s fault, and WE made the mess so WE have to unmake it.
